Terms of Service
Requesting a number from Momentum Movers, or locking in a booking, means accepting the terms below. They cover this website plus the moving, packing, and storage work our crew performs as a South Carolina-registered, insured household-goods carrier running out of North Charleston.
Before your move: building the quote
Your written figure starts with what you tell Mara: both addresses, whether a historic-district alley or a marsh-front lot applies, stairs or tight access, a rough inventory, and a target date. Describing your move over the phone doesn’t reserve anything by itself, a slot is held only once our office sends written confirmation. That figure holds as long as the job matches what you described, no toll, no mileage add-on, no fuel surcharge tacked on anywhere in the Charleston metro.
Before your move: what we need from you
- An honest account of the job, room count plus anything unusually heavy or oversized
- A heads-up on historic-district access, marsh-lot conditions, stairs, or fragile items before the crew arrives
- Any HOA or building-management sign-off that falls outside what our office already handles
- Clear paths through doorways and walkways on both ends so the crew can work efficiently
On move day: our service area
We work Charleston and the Lowcountry, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island, Daniel Island, and Summerville, with long-distance runs added on I-26, I-95, and I-20. Every truck on the road under our name is staffed by our own hires, never a subcontractor pulled in for the day.
On move day: when the property doesn’t match the description
Occasionally a home looks different in person than it sounded on the phone, more furniture, a rougher alley, sometimes even a different address. When that happens, work pauses until you approve the new figure the crew presents on the spot. Outside that scenario, the number on your quote is the number you pay, no exceptions.
After your move: valuation coverage and claims
Federal moving rules set the floor, and the valuation option you choose determines what sits above it. Every shipment leaves with released-value protection already attached, no added cost, sixty cents per pound per item as the baseline. Full-value protection, if you choose it, runs roughly one to three percent of your declared shipment value, backed by up to $1 million in cargo coverage. For an interstate move, the window to file a damage claim runs about nine months from delivery, and it needs to be submitted in writing, not called in.
Changing or canceling your date
A date is held by whichever confirmation is on file first, not by who called first. Tell us the moment your plans shift, the sooner you do, the sooner someone else on our calendar can take that slot. Your specific deposit amount and cancellation window live in the agreement you sign, not on this general page.
Using this website
What’s published here is a general overview of our services, updated periodically, treat it as directional rather than a guarantee that every word is current today. Don’t use the site unlawfully, don’t interfere with how it runs, and don’t try to reach areas that aren’t meant to be public.
Changes to these terms
This page changes as our practices, or the rules behind them, change. Whichever version is live on this page on your booking date is the version that governs your move, not an earlier or later one.
